Long overdue, but up and running: mollom!
Mollom is a great development by Dries Buytaert and Ben Schrauwen; it analyses any content send to it and determines whether it is spam or ham. It supports a wide range of CMS's. Check out mollom.com if you want more info!

Yup, it should prevent spam posts and cut down on bogus user registrations.
So in theory actual visitors/posters shouldn't notice it, except for the lack of spam :)
Interested myself to see how well it works, 3 spam attempts blocked since installation.
